District 4-C1 shall follow the rules governing the Multiple District Four Scrapbook rules.  The contest will run from convention to convention.

MULTIPLE DISTRICT FOUR
LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL
SCRAPBOOK CONTEST RULES

Winners of the individual District's Club Presidents Scrapbook or Yearbook may be entered in the MD-4 Scrapbook Contest. Scrapbooks shall be brought to the first Council of Governors' Meeting in August, where they will be judged by the Public Relations and Lions Informational Committee.

NOTE: Do not send them to the MD-4 office.

Scrapbooks shall conform to the following rules:

  1. The President's year shall begin with his election and will end on June 30 of the following year.

  2. The Scrapbook shall have first won the District level contest. The book can then be completed by June 30. There are three awards for the MD-4 Contest: A winner and two (2) honorable mentions. Awards will be presented at the MD-4 Convention the next February.

  3. The Scrapbook will be divided and judged in eight (8) categories:

(a) Organization and Index
      General Appearance

Each section should be tabbed for ease of judging and comparison.  Overall presentation and appearance for the book, emphasizing creativity and originality.

(b) Local Community Service

Community fund-raisers, service projects, or social activity sponsorships.

(c) District Service Activities

Any fund-raiser, service project, or social activity sponsorship beyond the local community and other District, Regional and Zone service activities.

(d) MD-4 Activities

Fund-raisers, service projects, or social activities at the MD-4 level.  Includes Student Speakers Contest, City of Hope, Flag Day, White Cane, MD-4 Convention, etc.

(e) International Activities

Fund-raisers, service projects, or social activities at the International level.  Includes LCIF, Twinning, White Cane, World Service Day, USA/Canada Forum, International Convention, etc.

(f) Youth Activities

Youth related programs at all levels, includes Leo sponsorship, Lions Quest, Peace Poster Contest, etc.

(g) Media Coverage

News in any media, includes publication in local newspapers, Lions or any other magazines, telethon coverage, etc.

(h) Club social activities

Social activities at any level in which the club is involved.  Includes Spouses Night, installations, inter-club socials, Zone and Regional events not listed elsewhere.

  1. Each section should be tabbed for ease of judging and comparison.

  2. The Scrapbook shall be identified as to Club and District, and the names of Club Officers and Scrapbook Chairman on the first page.

  3. The only photos to be considered in judging will be those telling a story of a project, etc. Other pictures will be judged on the general appearance of the book.

As this book is a year's history of the Club, it shall be prepared in such a manner as to be interesting, informative, and be a book the president will be proud to receive as tribute to his/her leadership for that year.

PLEASE be aware that the criteria listed above is the MD-4 rules for this contest.  If the winner of the District 4C-1 Scrapbook of the Year is going to have a chance at placing in the MD-4 contest, all criteria must be met.
