Though forgotten or unknown by many, this project still exists. It is one of those wonderful projects that most of our Clubs participated in but, sadly, seems to have been dropped and it’s right here in our District (Redding). It is our very own, we created it but it is dying out because we are not supporting it as much as before. So here is the scoop!! Lion Ken Woods has an office in Redding called Up-State Hearing. You or your clients can go there and get tested for FREE, and can get fitted for one or two hearing aids for FREE. The price for the molds are $40.00 to $60.00 each, which most people pay for but sometimes the Club pays for them. It is a pretty good deal considering the normal cost of those things. But here’s the catch. If he does not get the used hearing aids he can’t fill the needs. We collect used hearing aids now, but for some reason, most of them are going out of our District. Please continue to collect, but please take or send them to: Up-State Hearing, 1640 Tehama, Suite B, Redding, CA 96001. Phone 530-243-7307. If you ship them, even the cost of shipping can be added to the expenses for the project. Or bring them to a Cabinet meeting and give them to Verne or Donna Kendall. Is it possible there is an office in the southern part of the District that might be willing to participate in this program? Remember, this program was put together to serve the Clubs in our District. |
