SEATING DIAGRAM FOR THE HEAD TABLE

(audience)

PDG   VDG   SEC   PRES   Podium   GOV   RC   ZC   Cab Sec

(American flag is on the audience's RIGHT unless the podium is on a raised platform, in which case it is to the right of the podium.)

1. SEATING

If it is a Spouses Night, the spouse will be seated with the member, and at the head table, space permitting. If there is insufficient space, remove persons from either end (PDG, CS, & spouses).

2. INTRODUCTIONS

The club president introduces the Zone Chairman, the Zone Chairman introduces the Region Chairman, the Region Chairman introduces the District Governor, who will introduce the other members of the Cabinet who are present. Each person is to have a short bio to give to the person introducing him/her.

3. COURTESY

Our District Governor is an official representation of Lions International and should be afforded standing recognition when introduced, as a matter of courtesy and respect to the office. It is highly recommended that a public address system be available for the Governor's use. (It helps maintain eye contact, interest, and order.) Always stand when an International Officer is introduced.

4. MEAL EXPENSE

Meal expense for the Governor and Cabinet Officers, on official visitation, should be borne by the club being visited, where it does not create a financial burden.

5. PROGRAM FOR THE EVENING

The visiting Governor's talk is your program. NO OTHER PROGRAM SHOULD BE PLANNED. (Having another speaker is a discourtesy to the Governor's visit.) Induction of new members or the presentation of awards is encouraged, but give the Governor advanced notice.

6. RULES OF ORDER

(a) No "borrowing" of property or paraphernalia by a visiting Lion during the Governor's official visit is allowed.

(b) No unruly conduct by any Lion member should be tolerated. We are a member of a proud and renowned association, and thus should conduct ourselves accordingly.

VICE DISTRICT GOVERNORS VISIT. The VDG would be accorded the same courtesies as far as seating and introductions. The other considerations should be determined depending on the reasons or circumstances of the visit.

INTERNATIONAL PROTOCOL. Should your club happen to host dignitaries from MD4 or Lions International, contact the District Governor or a Past District Governor for Official Protocol. The Audience ALWAYS STANDS when a current officer of Lions International is introduced.
