Goals

The Lions Health Foundation has the following goals for summer camp:

bulletA safe, healthy and enjoyable camp experience.
bulletEnable youth to meet and share their experiences with other diabetic youth.
bulletEmpower campers to become responsible for individual control of their
health program.

Activities

The camp offers a variety of enjoyable activities and programs such as:

bulletDiabetes Education
bulletArchery, Boating and Fishing
bulletArts and Crafts
bulletMusic Instruction/Appreciation
bulletBaseball and Basketball

Medical Staff

Our 24 hour medical staff monitor diet and supervises insulin administration and blood sugar testing.  We have an emergency airlift arrangement with Mercy Medical Hospital in Redding for any incident that may require that service.  Medical educational activities assist campers in becoming responsible for their individual health programs.

Counselors

One counselor is provided for the appropriate number and age of the campers.  Counselors receive basic training in support the medical staff and assisting campers.  Counselors are selected from Lions, Lionesses, students, teachers, etc.  Counselors are role models for campers and positively impact each camper's experience.

If you are interested in joining our team, please submit a Counselor Application (103K PDF) and the Counselor Application Medical Emergency Release Form (12K PDF).
